Welcome to the first homepage edition of i2P for 2012.
In many ways it has been a slow start to the New Year because of having to deal with the “leftovers” from 2011.
One of those items for i2P was that a third-party provider to the site did not advise of a code change to the security section in our subscribe panel, creating a range of frustrated subscribers not able to get on board.
We apologise to all those potential subscribers who were unable to register with us in the second half of 2011, but if you try once more you should have no problem.

Welcome to the December 2009 edition of i2p - Information to Pharmacists E-Magazine.
When i2P first began in February 2000, it was decided that a fortnightly publication might prove to be the optimum publishing cycle.
This thought was soon dispelled as it was found that having sufficient content to maintain this cycle became a problem.
Oh for those quieter times!
The cycle then became monthly and has been maintained up to now.
The problem is now coping with the volume of news and opinion that is generated on a daily basis.
Very much the reverse of the year 2000 - a statement for our time and how the pace of pharmacy life has increased.
i2P usually has a recess in January of each year to give its opinion writers a break, and this coming January will be no exception. January is also the month that the i2P site undergoes maintenance and improvement, and this will occur as usual.
One of the improvements will be to look at better managing content and its delivery, as it is felt that the publishing cycle should become at least a weekly one, simply to cope with volume.
i2P is a not-for-profit publication and has tight budgetary constraints because of this.
It really is amazing what can be done on a virtual "shoestring".
Time is also a scarce commodity to do all the things that have to be done.
As editor I would like to thank the loyal band of far-sighted writers who constantly generate perspectives on all things affecting pharmacy.
I would also like to thank our readers who keep our "page count" high and communicate feedback to our writers in a private capacity. We have recently introduced a comments section at the foot of each article or news item so that comments can be shared and expanded.
New topics are constantly added and this year we have seen Climate Change, Hospital News, Aged Care and Preventive Medicine given an increasing focus, as well as Information Technology issues.
2010 will continue to see an expansion in topics.
One new topic for consideration may be Deregulation Issues, but these seem to be very quiet for the moment.
Maybe the calm before the storm?
One issue we will continue to pursue is the plight of clinical pharmacists who have literally no place to go. This is an issue we will continue to shine the light on.
For this current edition, as usual, we have a range of interesting opinion articles as well as global news content - a good read for at least a month.
From i2p a safe and peaceful festive season is our wish to all readers and to our writers.
May things be a little more prosperous with what the New Year brings.
