Welcome to the first homepage edition of i2P for 2012.
In many ways it has been a slow start to the New Year because of having to deal with the “leftovers” from 2011.
One of those items for i2P was that a third-party provider to the site did not advise of a code change to the security section in our subscribe panel, creating a range of frustrated subscribers not able to get on board.
We apologise to all those potential subscribers who were unable to register with us in the second half of 2011, but if you try once more you should have no problem.

Introducing current ideas, perspectives and issues, to the profession of pharmacy | |
Welcome to the November edition of i2P – Information to Pharmacists.
The month just finished has been an exceptionally busy one for pharmacy with an interesting PAC being concluded.
The “Great Debate” from PAC stirred considerable interest, also the talk given by John Menadue.
The latter has been reported and commented on in the article “Pharmacy’s Professional Future” and it is recommended that this article be bookmarked.
Better still, add your comment at the foot of the article.
All our columnists are back on deck and we are delighted to report that our New Zealand columnist, John Dunlop, has been accorded high honours by the New Zealand Pharmaceutical Society.
See the article in the Recent News section or look for the editor’s logo in the column section.
Our congratulations go out to John for this honour that resulted from his work in the pharmacy professional services area..
There is a swag of press releases from PSA, NPS and ASMI because of the high level of activity in October, and don’t forget the ASMI Conference scheduled for the 12th November next. That promises to be a good one..
Check out the Opinion Articles from Ken Stafford, Pat Gallagher and Chris Wright commenting on practice problems, IT communications and pharmacy growth.
Add your comments to each article.
Pharmedia this month is carrying a large section on pharmacy professional services and its delivery. This is core pharmacy business and deserves your attention and comment.
Rollo Manning has an excellent contribution on Indigenous Health. If you ever intend to assist in this area, Rollo’s article is required reading.
Our Information Technology section is carrying a diverse range of information this month and as more pharmacists begin to engage more substantively in this area, our coverage increases accordingly.
Our Preventive Medicine section is also growing slowly. Content relating to “food as medicine” appears to be gathering interest and information published here is evidence-based, so it can be recommended to pharmacy patients.
Have your tried testing the links in our clinical newsfeed?
We believe that it is the best in the pharmacy world and dynamically changes throughout the day.
You can drill as deep as you like for whatever your interest may be and is a great tool for any research activity you may be engaged in.
Also, check out our climate change section. Climate is increasingly impacting with health and this growing body of knowledge will assist pharmacists in up to date health recommendations.
There are some new additions to the E-Publications section and while it is impossible to comment on every news item published, it is worth checking out the sections titled Pharma News, Hospital News, Health Politics, Research Reports and the growing market for Aged Care.
More than enough to keep you out of mischief for a full month’s reading.
